Lucas is a dropped ball. It's been so long now that if Nyx does anything, it doesn't have the benefit of pacing and will feel out of place. If Lucas stays in the void, his impact on Layla is a lot less significant than the initial story would have led you to believe. It seems like Lucas was telling Darryl about the guy who grabbed Layla and the MC happened to walk in.
Darryl recognizes the MC and remembers Tori flirting with him, he backs off when Lucas starts his attack, like he expected to make some threats but not actual assault.

I think it would be neat to have a way to slowly win him over, he's never gonna be best friend material. With friends like Zach, who needs enemies?). At the least he should be able to come to a mutual respect over track and I'd love a plot to put Tori in her place (not that type of threesome or anything, just something where Tori gets embarrassed).

At the training camp, when you had the option to either Walk Away or Confront Him, after he cut into your race lane, I had initially thought that would be a catalyst moment to establish how the two progress. Walking away would allow for wiggle room and confronting him could make that bridge harder or more difficult to cross. But he overall seems to have petered off into becoming more of a background character since camp.

Darryl is a guy who is the number 1, the biggest "badass" in the area feeling threatened by the new guy.
New guy that both can challenge him on track and is popular with the ladies.
From his (typical jock) perspective, it's someone new entering his territory and taking what's his.

He didn't know the MC was going to the beach that day when Val joined his group...
But because the MC always hanging out with stunners pisses him off he shoots that snarky look as he walks by, as if to say "i'm gonna get this one before you do".
Obviously not of course, but that's what he's thinking.


There might be a number of things that influence how our relationship with him progresses, maybe it's pushing him off or not, maybe it's winning or losing, maybe it's tipping him

I do think the 2 big ones are:
Valeria route yes or no?
Tori route yes or no?

Those 2 should have the biggest influence on how he behaves with us.

I don't see Val routes ultimately mattering, since I think regardless she isn't interested in Darryl that way (waiting for him to pick her up and see what happens). Tori might but I never really thought of Tori as having a route per se. I definitely thought the training camp confrontation could have went somewhere and tipping would have been a nice bonus on Layla's route.

I think the Val relationship might influence things in unpredictable ways...
He might even end up helping against Ethan if Ethan is a threat to Val, despite Val passing on him.
Or maybe Darryl will further dislike the MC because she passed on him and chose this "loser", could go either way really.

If he decides to help despite knowing he's not getting any rewards, it mark his transition to team good guys.
If he just tells us to "fuck off" it means he'll be a resentful asshole for the rest of the story.

Tori is 10% a romance route, 90% a ticking time bomb lol.
Good odds that he'll have some reaction if/when he finds out you been fucking Tori.
Or maybe he'll just ignore because he got over her.
