Sorry, hate to be a pest but the settings don't seem to be working
over the last week and a half, I tried various combinations and I still keep getting alerts I'm not interested in.

the only alert I'd want if someone responded to "my" post.

which boxes should be "off" ?

If I "liked" a photo or paid some one a compliment,
I don't need to know who also paid this person a compliment etc

1) Private messages are called conversations now. 2) Check 'quotes your message'. No other boxes should be checked. Hopefully this helps.

 

I know there is a new ban on source code, but could I still write things and simply not show what's up the dress (the source).

What I have in mind is an image in my signature that shows the avatar of whoever is looking at it and says something nice about them.

This is of course better than my Calvin sig from back in the day that peed on your avatar.

I tried twice today to change my avatar, but discovered that now that "maximum" is 50KB. I have to keep reducing my paintings down to literally an invisible dot and they are still 71-74KB.

Great new system. It was bad enough before when you could only have 80x80 pixels.

 

You can try adjusting how large the file itself is. Some editors have a quality setting. Maybe that will help.

 

It is MY painting. I took the pic. No matter what I do, the size of the pic is the size of the pic. I reduce it to fit; reduce it, reduce it, reduce it, reduce it and reduce it until you can't see anything and it is still 50% too large, according to XNXX new policy.

 

This is 66x80px The file is 8.55kb. The one below this is 57.0kb and is 331x400px. You can adjust the file size as well as its ratio. I'm not telling you it will work. I just think you deserve an answer that isn't smug self-satisfied silence.

I use Photoscape. It's free, and when you save your image, you can adjust the image quality. Once I resized that one, it was already well under the 50kb. I don't know if other programs offer that option as I don't use them.

You might already have MS Paint if you're running Windows. I believe it serves the same function.

 

That's what I use and what cannot get the pic down to the proper "size" without making the size of a pinpoint.

 

This is why I use Photoscape. It is possible Paint doesn't have that function. It may only allow you to shrink the image size, not the actual file. Nor does it seem to reduce the saved image's quality. Okay, bear with me. Photoscape allows you to save your image (once modified) at 90%. When it is 90%, the image might not be as sharp as it began, but this also drops the amount of kb/mb. Though, I didn't need to do anything with the attached image except resize it. I have no clue if it works as your avatar. I didn't try it. But you mentioned the file size and assuming it is well under the high limit, it should work. I'm sorry you couldn't get the program. See if there is an official site for it. I got it off cnet and sometimes your antivirus might warn you about the site because it contains third party links to their software. I haven't had a problem with them beyond the occasional dead link(s) or obsolete software.

Unfortunately, we lost some of the previous features due to the upgrade.

 

Strangely enough, since my earlier problem with loading a new avatar, the "requirements" have changed from "a maximum of 50 x 50 pixels" to "at least 200 x 200 pixels", which allows me to get pics of a size that can be seen.

Whoever changed this (though there was no announcement of the change), thanks.
